Studio Units and Apartments
There are nine studio units and two one-bedroom apartments at Edith Cavell. The studio units are large enough to accommodate a single or queen bed as well as lounge chairs and a dining/utility table and chairs. The one-bedroom apartments have a separate bedroom, large enough for a queen bed if desired.
Each studio unit and apartment is uniquely decorated, and feature full ensuite and kitchenette facilities, and large built in wardrobes. Most residents choose to join the company of others in the dining room for meals, although they have the choice of having their meals in their units if they prefer. Full laundry and housekeeping services are provided. Residents are encouraged to retain their connection with the community, although regular outings are part of our activities programme.
Studio units and apartments are available on an occupation right agreement (ORA). Studio units are priced at $240,000. One bedroom apartments are $245,000.
Seven two bedroom townhouses adjacent to Edith Cavell allow independent living for residents. Many townhouse residents continue to drive and live full lives within the Sumner and Christchurch community.
All townhouses have large lounges with a double bedroom off the lounge and full en suite bathroom, which connects to a second bedroom. Four townhouses have internal access garage/workshops and three have road facing views. All have full kitchen and laundry facilities, and each is decorated in individual, warm neutral colours. All units have call bells which are monitored 24 hours a day. Support is available from the adjacent nursing home, and arrangements can be made for meals, laundry and housekeeping.
Each townhouse has its own garden and lawn area which is taken care of by our gardener, although residents are welcome to help tend to their own gardens if they wish.
