Rugby Rivalry

Stephen Murray (General Manager, Villages and Marketing) and Mark Renwick (Development and Property Manager) recently visited Clutha Views Lifecare & Village under the guise of a business trip.

However Clutha Views staff and residents strongly suspected that they were really there to bolster support for their beloved Hurricanes, who were soon to clash against the mighty southern Highlanders.

During their visit they donned Hurricanes gear and chatted with residents about their own passion for rugby – like Lindsay Wright, who played a lot of rugby for his local team “Crescent Rugby” and for “Clutha” at representative level, and Noeleen Muir whose late husband Ernie played several games for “Otago” in his younger years and their son Neville is currently a rugby referee in the Otago region.

Despite plenty of friendly banter between the two camps, the Clutha Views locals were not convinced by Stephen and Mark’s best efforts to sway them towards the yellow and black – they continue to be the staunch Highlanders supporters they’ve always been!
