Part of the Karina family for 10 years, Noreen loves that no two days are the same. As Business Manager, she believes in having an open-door policy for residents, “they are most important because, without my residents, I wouldn’t have a job.”

Back in 2015, Noreen and another Registered Nurse put together a proposition to Management to take over as Managers at Karina. “This was very successful, we gained 4 years Certification for the home in the Certification audit, a first for Karina.”

She prides herself that she runs a great place for residents to live, as occupancy is always high and she feels a great sense of achievement that here, residents are well cared for. “I have a very good relationship with family members and external agencies. I have been told on several occasions they have placed their family members at Karina because of me.”

Noreen always strives to make a happy, healthy and welcoming environment. “We are very family-orientated. The building has an aura about it and we are always told what a lovely homely feel it has.” She also believes in the difference the activities make for residents.

“It lifts their spirits, puts a smile on their face and they feel better about themselves.” Putting a smile on a resident’s face is what makes 'A Better Everyday' for Noreen. As well as “supporting staff to do their job well.”
