A dedicated team of medical and nursing staff provides Specialised Hospital Care at Cargill Lifecare. Our aim is to provide complete comfort and support to our residents and peace of mind for their families and we understand that mental health and physical health are equally important and that everyone has different needs. To accommodate this, all of our residents have comprehensive health care plans, tailored to their individual needs. Our Hospital service includes palliative/end of life care as many people in our homes in the hospital level of care are palliative.
When life comes to an end, it should do so with complete dignity and compassion. That’s the role of Palliative Care and at Cargill Lifecare & Village, it’s our privilege to ensure that people in our care live the final part of their life in comfort for as long as they need.
Many of our residents are palliative and receive Palliative Care through our Geriatric Care services. Our specially trained medical and support staff bring happiness and comfort to their lives through daily activities, socialising with others and delicious, nutritious meals.

Geriatric Care
Geriatric Care covers a range of specialised services, including Rest Home Care and Respite Care. In Invercargill, Cargill Lifecare & Village provides Geriatric Care in a rest home environment, just a short drive from Waikiwi Shopping Centre. Warm and welcoming, this cosy Heritage Lifecare home is set amongst beautifully landscaped gardens, providing a relaxing environment for our residents with registered nurses available around the clock. Our Respite Care programme is ideal for carers in need of a break, and we provide this service for as little as one day or up to two weeks. Our Day Programme is designed to introduce the different geriatric care services we have to offer and also provide an open day for people to look around the grounds and meet some of our residents and staff.
