Senior Hospital - not offered by HLC
At St Joseph’s in Lower Hutt, our aim is to ensure complete comfort and support to our residents and their families and our senior hospital services provide a safe and secure hospital environment for people who require round-the-clock assistance from registered nurses and caregivers. We understand that mental health and physical health are equally important and that everyone has different needs. For that reason, all of our senior hospital residents receive a comprehensive health care plan, tailored to their individual needs and because many of our residents are palliative, we offer palliative care as part of our Senior Hospital service.

At Heritage lifecare, we believe that the last stages of life should be lived with complete dignity and compassion. That’s the role of Palliative Care and at St Joseph’s Lifecare. Compassion is in our name and our nature and it's our privilege to support the Lower Hutt community, ensuring that people in our care live out their lives in comfort and care for as long as they need. At St Joseph’s Lifecare, many of our residents are palliative and receive Palliative Care through our Geriatric Care services. Geriatric Care
For almost 100 years, St Joseph’s Lifecare has provided Geriatric Care to the Lower Hutt community. Today, our staff are trained to deliver tailored care for every resident so you can move in and relax, knowing our Geriatric Care team is there to support you at every stage.
Geriatric Care services at St Joseph’s include Rest Home and Respite care as well as a Day Programme and specialised Geriatric Care services including Dementia and Hospital Care. We provide palliative/end of life care as part of our Geriatric Care service as many of our residents are palliative. Each resident receives a comprehensive health care plan, tailored to their individual needs.
