Vern Johnson, our Care Home Manager at Glengarry Lifecare is the 2nd place winner of The Comvita Kiwi Heroes Competition. Having been nominated by her six year old grandson for her essential and valuable work during COVID-19, Vern was brought to tears as she learnt of the surprise that she had won a $300 care package through the AM show. Throughout COVID-19, Vern has been busy keeping an eye on everything at Glengarry, and has missed her family dearly. Having welcomed a new granddaughter, she kept in contact with her loved ones in Auckland through phone and FaceTime at every opportunity she was given. Winning this award "brought me back to home base again with a tear and a memory of missed cuddles and kisses", she says. When Vern gets the chance to go on holiday, Auckland will be her first destination to visit her loved ones. Heritage Lifecare is incredibly grateful for the hard work Vern has done for Glengarry throughout COVID-19, this is an award very well deserved. Well done Vern!
