Today our Heritage whanau all over New Zealand will be celebrating Kings Birthday in honour of our newly Coronated King in New Zealand! It’s not his real birthday however, it was held on the actual birthday of the monarch until 1936, but after King George V died, it was decided to keep the date on the second Monday in June.
