To celebrate both Te Wiki o te Reo Māori, Māori Language Week, and National Diversional and Recreational Therapy week, Stillwater Lifecare's Diversional & Recreational Therapist organised a wonderful afternoon in collaboration with neighboring Care Home, Flaxmore Lifecare.
The highlight of the day was a brilliant Kapa Haka performance by the talented children from St Joseph's School, bringing together the values of community, inclusion, and diversity.
And WOW—what a performance it was! The children, ranging from ages 7 to 14, gave an incredible show, and to everyone's delight, one of our residents was even invited to perform with them! It’s fair to say that everyone who attended had sore cheeks from all the smiling.
