We have a great team who always take their time to ensure our residents have the best life they can have
Hazel joined Redroofs Lifecare in September 2020 as Clinical Services Manager and was promoted to the Manager role in May 2021. Before that, she had been Charge Nurse in the Mental Health Services for Older People at Dunedin Hospital for 12 years. “Since leaving there I worked in a number of Rest Home and Hospital facilities in the Dunedin area in both Clinical and Manager roles,” she says.
Hazel is now relishing her role as Manager at Redroofs Lifecare. “I love a challenge, and I was able to approach the role with a set of fresh eyes and skills to look at what we could do to make it ‘A Better Everyday’ for our residents,” she says.
Hazel sees her team at Redroofs Lifecare as a big advantage. “We have a great team who always take their time to ensure our residents have the best life they can have and to make it as much fun as possible whilst still ensuring the care is first class,” she says.
Hazel loves her job, the residents, and her staff, saying, “Every day is different, despite having a routine, and we always manage to laugh.” Hazel says if you’re thinking about having your loved one move into Redroofs Lifecare, she’d love to show you around.
“It’s a great life,” says Hazel. “You can come in for Respite Care and see what life is like in the Rest Home before you decide to move in. A lot of our residents started this way. Now they enjoy the company, support, and knowing there’s someone here all the time to look after anything, big or small, 24 hours a day.”
