They get you moving
Having worked for a builder in one of his earlier careers, Roger is pleased he took so much care in fitting out a studio room at Edith Cavell because it turned out to be the one he’s in now. “It’s a great room with heaps of space, really good views, and of course the fit-out is top-notch!”
After having a stroke and needing somewhere secure to live, Roger chose Edith Cavell Lifecare because his son and daughter are nearby, and he’s very pleased he did. “I get on really well with the carers here, and management are very approachable. Not that there’s anything to sort out, we’re very well looked after.”
He thinks the diversional therapists are fabulous. “I love the activities and involve myself in anything going on. I do the sitting yoga and the breathing exercises – waving your arms around like a mad thing, it’s great fun.”
Roger has made a lot of friends here, he has a regular table at dinner and is particularly complimentary about the food – “it’s too good. I was supposed to lose weight for my son’s wedding last year but I couldn’t meet my target.”
So what does 'A Better Everyday' mean to Roger? “Well, you should have seen my days before here, then you’ll know why today’s better. It’s very comfortable here, you can have a laugh and they get you moving.”
