This week is NZ Garden Bird Survey Week and what better way to raise awareness than by visiting a bird aviary. Last week, the residents of Waiapu House enjoyed a visit to the Cornwall Park Bird Aviary, where they got to get up close and see many wonderful and colourful birds. Birds are an important indicator to predicting the health of New Zealand's environment, and the annual bird survey gives researchers a great understanding into garden birds.
