Waiapu House Lifecare & Village
When it comes to everyday life, Waiapu makes it easy with a choice of self-contained apartments, Village chalets, and large Rest Home and Hospital rooms complete with en-suites, WiFi, and a nurse call system. We offer both Rest Home and Hospital level care.
Part of the Hawke’s Bay community for over fifty years, Waiapu House is set amongst five acres of beautifully landscaped gardens just a hop, skip and jump from Havelock North Village. We also offer Day Programme, Respite and Palliative Care.
We offer everything from spa treatments to speech therapy, physiotherapy, podiatry, hairdressing and health checks. We have a range of recreational activities including gardening, exercise programmes, quizzes and social gatherings. Our facility van is always on hand for outings.
We have an on-site chaplain who conducts church services in our beautiful John Scott designed Chapel and at last count, staff that speak up to eight different languages.

Levels of care
Rest Home Care
If you or a loved one have a medical condition or are less able to lead an independent life, our Rest Home living offers dedicated 24/7 care from our team of registered nurses and trained carers.
Hospital Care
If you or a loved one suffer from significant disabilities or medical conditions, particularly where the loss of cognitive abilities is a recognised factor, our Hospital Care could be just what you’re looking for.
Day Programme
If you or your loved one would enjoy some company and activities now and again, many of our Rest Homes invite locals who may be considering a Rest Home to come and enjoy our Day Programme.
Respite Care
Heritage Lifecare Respite services provide carers with a much needed short-term break. It is different from our Day Programme service as it allows guests to stay under our care for more than a day and up to a couple of weeks.

Additional Daily Accommodation Charges
We are pleased to be able to offer residents coming into our homes a range of premium room options. The premium room options provide intending residents with choices to suit their individual preferences, e.g. a full en-suite, semi ensuite, larger room or unique view.
A Premium Room Accommodation Charge is a fee that you pay in addition to your Daily Care Fee. The amount of additional charge depends on your rooms features, and this varies based on the premium room features and by Care Home location. Accommodation Premium Room charges range from: $20 to $50*.
