When it comes to everyday life, Edith Cavell makes it easy with a choice of spacious studio rooms, Village townhouses, and large Rest Home rooms, complete with WiFi and a nurse call system. There’s also an on-site Hospital to give you added peace of mind.

Part of the Sumner community since 1970 and extensively refurbished since then, Edith Cavell Lifecare & Village is set amongst landscaped gardens just a stroll from the friendly Sumner village and the sea. We also offer Respite, Convalescence and Palliative care.

We offer everything from a scooter bay to SKY TV, physiotherapy, podiatry, hairdressing and health checks. We have a range of recreational activities including indoor bowls, exercise classes, quizzes and social gatherings. Our facility van is always on hand for outings.

Rest Home Care

If you or a loved one have a medical condition or are less able to lead an independent life, our Rest Home living offers dedicated 24/7 care from our team of registered nurses and trained carers.

Care Suites

Would you like to live independently with the confidence of 24-hour care? Our modern and sunny Care Suites offer the freedom of your own private apartment, with peace of mind, knowing that healthcare assistance is there 24 hours a day.

Hospital Care

If you or a loved one suffer from significant disabilities or medical conditions, particularly where the loss of cognitive abilities is a recognised factor, our Hospital Care could be just what you’re looking for.

Respite Care

Heritage Lifecare Respite services provide carers with a much needed short-term break. It is different from our Day Programme service as it allows guests to stay under our care for more than a day and up to a couple of weeks.

Additional Daily Accommodation Charges

We are pleased to be able to offer residents coming into our homes a range of premium room options. The premium room options provide intending residents with choices to suit their individual preferences, e.g. a full en-suite, semi ensuite, larger room or unique view.

A Premium Room Accommodation Charge is a fee that you pay in addition to your Daily Care Fee. The amount of additional charge depends on your rooms features, and this varies based on the premium room features and by Care Home location. Accommodation Premium Room charges range from: $20 to $40*.
