When it comes to everyday life, Karina makes it easy with personalised Rest Home, Day Programme and Respite Care. The well-appointed rooms all look out onto sheltered courtyards or landscaped gardens and come complete with a nurse call system and WiFi.

Part of the close-knit Palmerston North community, Karina enjoys a view of the Tararua Ranges, just a hop, skip and jump from the Terrace End shopping centre where you’ll find all the essentials including a pharmacy. Just a few minutes from there and you’re in the heart of Palmerston North.

We offer everything from podiatry to appointment transportation, SKY TV, church services and hairdressing. We have a range of recreational activities including happy hour, gardening, arts and crafts, indoor bowls and live entertainment. Our facility van is also always on hand for outings.

Levels of care

Rest Home Care

If you or a loved one have a medical condition or are less able to lead an independent life, our Rest Home living offers dedicated 24/7 care from our team of registered nurses and trained carers.

Day Programme

If you or your loved one would enjoy some company and activities now and again, many of our Rest Homes invite locals who may be considering a Rest Home to come and enjoy our Day Programme.

Respite Care

Heritage Lifecare Respite services provide carers with a much needed short-term break. It is different from our Day Programme service as it allows guests to stay under our care for more than a day and up to a couple of weeks.

Living & Care Options

We have a range of services and activities at Karina Lifecare, suitable for residents at all different stages. Our trained staff are always there to help and encourage residents and make sure they feel safe and comfortable. Also ensuring there are suitable health and wellbeing services available for residents at our Care home.

Additional Daily Accommodation Charges

We are pleased to be able to offer residents coming into our homes a range of premium room options. The premium room options provide intending residents with choices to suit their individual preferences, e.g. a full en-suite, semi ensuite, larger room or unique view.

A Premium Room Accommodation Charge is a fee that you pay in addition to your Daily Care Fee. The amount of additional charge depends on your rooms features, and this varies based on the premium room features and by Care Home location. Accommodation Premium Room charges $5*.
