Colwyn House is Hawke's Bay's specialised home for Dementia and Psychogeriatric care. Our home is purpose built for Dementia and Psychogeriatric residents, and our caring staff are trained and specialised. The well-appointed rooms all look out onto sheltered courtyards or landscaped gardens and come complete with a 24-hour call bell system and WiFi.

Part of the close-knit Hastings community, Colwyn House is set amongst beautifully landscaped gardens, just a hop, skip and jump from the Hastings shopping centre, where you’ll find all the essentials including a supermarket and pharmacy.

We offer everything from hairdressing to podiatry and appointment transportation. We have a range of recreational activities including board games, gardening, crafts, movies and indoor bowls. Our Care Home van is also always on hand for outings.

Day Programme

If you or your loved one would enjoy some company and activities now and again, many of our Rest Homes invite locals who may be considering a Rest Home to come and enjoy our Day Programme.

Our trained staff are always there to help and encourage residents and make sure they feel safe and comfortable. Also ensuring there are suitable health and wellbeing services available for residents at our Care Home.

Additional Daily Accommodation Charges

We are pleased to be able to offer residents coming into our homes a range of premium room options. The premium room options provide intending residents with choices to suit their individual preferences, e.g. a full en-suite, semi ensuite, larger room or unique view.

A Premium Room Accommodation Charge is a fee that you pay in addition to your Daily Care Fee. The amount of additional charge depends on your rooms features, and this varies based on the premium room features and by Care Home location. Accommodation Premium Room charges range from: $25 to $30*.
